Downtown Silver Spring Community
Hi, I’m Hannah and I am standing in the heart of downtown Silver Spring on the public plaza next to Ellsworth Place. I live in Silver Spring and I would love to tell you more about why I chose this unique community to call home.
Silver Spring is part of Montgomery County and is located right outside the DC line. I chose to live in Silver Spring because I wanted to be close to DC and everything it has to offer – restaurants, bars, museums, and monuments, but I also wanted a quieter life with trees and big yards for my energetic Doberman.
This public plaza is the heart of downtown Silver Spring and is currently undergoing a $10 million renovation that will turn this road into a dynamic green space and feature new art from No Kings Collective. This plaza is also home to the Silver Spring Farmer’s Market, shops, restaurants, movie theaters, and concert venues.
Silver Spring transportation is a major area hub featuring the Silver Spring metro station which is part of the red line, metro buses, the MARC train, and the future Purple Line, which will connect Silver Spring east to College Park and west to Bethesda. Silver Spring is right off the beltway and is connected to the ICC and 95 and 29 for transportation to nearby areas.
Just a few of the places you should explore are Acorn Park, which is the site of the original silver spring from which the city gets it name, this plaza, AFI Silver Theatre, the Fillmore, the library on Wayne Ave, the iceskating rink, and so much more. Head down to Sligo Creek Park for a lovely picnic or hike and connect to the Rock Creek Trail or the Capital Crescent trail.
I hope you enjoyed this video and I would love to talk to you more about Silver Spring, its real estate market, and why I love to live here.
