Woodside Park is one of the oldest suburbs in the DC area and one of the most sought after in Silver Spring. It is located between Georgia Ave on the west, Spring St on the south, Colesville Rd on the east, and Dale Dr and Columbia Blvd on the north.
As its name implies, Woodside Park is park-like where the road follows the land rather than grids. It used to be known as Alton Farm, the home of Crosby Stuart Noyes, who owned the Washington Evening Star newspaper. When he died, the land was given to his children who sold it to a development company. The company divided the estate into one acre lots. These one acre and now half acre lots feature houses setback from the road.
Because the development happened mainly from 1920-1950, the majority of the architecture is from this period including Cape Cods, Tudors, and Colonials. There are 500 homes in this neighborhood. Many of Noyes’ original trees and plants are still in the neighborhood.
In 2022, the median sales price was $960,000 and the average sold price tops $1M at $1.05M. 3-4 bedrooms homes start around $600,000 and large 5-6 bedroom homes are price near $1.2M. The average days on market is 22. Most homes sell just above list price with a 101% average sales price to list price ratio.
Woodside Park features a variety of community amenities including a community park, picnic area, and playground. The 2021 concept drawings for the renovation include a new skate park, basketball court, soccer, court, tennis courts, and more. Construction begins this year.
Because it is walking distance to Downtown Silver Spring, you get access to the metro, dozens of restaurants, and grocery stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. It is easy to commute with 495, Georgia Avenue, and Rt. 29.

Transit: Metrobus and RideOn buses run through the neighborhood. The Silver Spring Metro station is a 15-minute walk from the neighborhood.
